Emeritus missionary Audrey Dyer, former Georgian, dies at 92

FARGO, N.D. — Former Thomasville resident Audrey C. Dyer, 92, an emeritus Southern Baptist missionary to Nigeria, died Dec. 28.

Dyer was a graduate of Moorhead (Minn.) State College and held a midwifery certificate and a nursing diploma. Before her missionary service, she worked in Rochester, N.Y. as a nursing instructor; in Wendover, Ky., as a nurse-midwife; and in Thomasville for the county health department. A memorial service was held Dec. 30 at Temple Baptist Church in Fargo, N.D. She had no surviving family members.
