Retired Georgia Baptist pastor and evangelist Randy Haman died Jan. 3 in Ormand Beach, Fla. following a brief illness. He was 88.
Haman was a graduate of Norman College, Mercer University and New Orleans Seminary. During his ministry of more than 60 years, Haman pastored churches throughout Georgia including Memorial Baptist Church in Moultrie, Eastside Baptist Church in Cairo, Tabernacle Baptist Church in Cartersville, First Baptist Church in Mableton, Orchard Knob Baptist Church in Atlanta, Chestnut Mountain Baptist Church in Flowery Branch and Pineridge Baptist Church in Brunswick. He also served several years as a full-time evangelist, preaching in hundreds of churches throughout the southeast.
Haman was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Hazel Little Haman. He is survived by a daughter, Sylvia Boyett of Ormand Beach, Fla., sons David and Joe Haman of Bradenton, Fla. and son Andy Haman, pastor of New Life Baptist Church in Metter.
Phillip Scarborough died Feb. 26 following a long illness. He is survived by parents Mr. and Mrs. Don Scarborough, members of Memorial Baptist Church in Sylvania; sister Susan Allen, a member of First Baptist Church in Statesboro; and two sons, Swede and Trent.
