Obituaries

Jack Green, long-time Alaskan and 57th president of the Alaska Baptist Convention (2002 - 2003), died around March 23. His burial was in North Carolina.

Green was known to numerous Georgia Baptists, as he assisted volunteers through the partnership with his state.

Green was found dead in his chair in his home a few days after his wife, Naomi, left the state for a trip. He was discovered by his daughter who had been unable to reach him for several days.

Green was instrumental in getting the Alaska Baptist Convention's legal documents updated. He and his wife assisted many churches in the Anchorage area and individuals worldwide. Green helped establish the trust fund for the LaVerne Griffin Youth Recreation Camp, which Georgia Baptists helped remodel.
