Jesus gave us the Great Commission so that we would go out and reach each and every person that we could for His glory. If some churches use Awana as one way to fulfill the Great Commission, and boys and girls and moms and dads are getting saved because of it, why would anybody feel the need to call that into question?
The ultimate goal should be to see people come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ. If your church uses GAs, RAs and Bible Drill and is reaching people for Jesus, that's wonderful. My church uses Awana as one way we try to fulfill the Great Commission. We've been a Georgia Baptist church and a Southern Baptist church for well over 100 years and will continue to proudly be one until Jesus comes back for all God's children (including the ones who got saved on Wednesday nights in Awana).
