Enjoys 'Plan of Salvation' in The Index

SIR: More than once while reading The Christian Index, I have noticed the section on the plan of salvation and have wondered if it has been useful to people. Well, recently it was to me.

Last week I knew I would be eating lunch alone at an Atlanta restaurant, so I took along the Jan. 1 issue of The Index to read while I ate. Once the meal was finished and my server brought the check I began to search my pockets for a Gospel tract I could leave her along with the tip. To my disappointment I could not find one.

While sitting there and feeling somewhat disappointed in myself, a thought popped into my head: “Cut out the plan of salvation from The Index!” Since I carry a small pocketknife, which has scissors, that was not hard to do. It had to have been from God since to my knowledge I had never heard or thought of this before.

I don’t know what my server thought about it, but I hope the generous tip encouraged her to read it and I pray that she has found a relationship with Jesus through it.
