Neal M. Conner, Jr. was recognized as Man of the Year at First Baptist Church in Waycross on June 19.

Conner has been a member of the church since 1969. His involvement in the church includes service as church moderator and member of the Finance Committee, Church Leadership Council, Baptist Men’s Fellowship, Debt Retirement Committee, Constitution and By-Laws Committee, Baptism Committee and the Foundation Trustees Endowment Committee.

Conner is a Sunday School teacher, ordained deacon, and has served as chairman of the deacon board. He has also served on deacon ministry subcommittees and as Training Union director.

A native of Moultrie, Conner has also been active in the community including involvement with Waycross Junior Chamber of Commerce, YMCA Board, Kiwanis Club and various school organizations. He also served as county attorney for eight years and city attorney for nineteen years.

Conner is married to the former Ruthie Johnson and they have three children: Erin, Wes and Kevin.
