Tom Alderman joined the staff of Eastern Heights Baptist Church in Statesboro as minister of music on May 1. Alderman holds a bachelor's degree in education from Georgia Southern University and attended Southwestern Seminary where he completed 60 hours toward his masters degree in education and more than 20 hours in music and youth. He has served as pastor and associate pastor of churches in Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. He and his wife, Sandi, have three children.
Shorter Avenue Baptist Church in Rome called Floyd Battles as interim pastor June 26.
Matt Brady recently resigned as pastor at First Baptist Church in Hiram to accept a pastorate of a church in Alabama. First Hiram has elected Chris Brady as bi-vocational pastor. He and his wife, Bree, began serving the church on July 3.
Grant Cantrell began serving this month as minister to young married adults at Roswell Street Baptist Church in Marietta. In addition, he will serve as staff coordinator of the eleven o'clock worship services. Cantrell comes to the church from First Baptist Church in Atlanta, where he served under Bill Bryan. Cantrell is from Joelton, Tenn. and is a graduate of Union University and Southwestern Seminary. He is joined by his wife, Becky. Ernest Easley is pastor of Roswell Street Baptist.
Martin "Marty" A. Carnes was called as pastor at First Baptist Church in Quitman on May 15 and began his ministry on June 14. He is joined by his wife, Cindy, and their children, Andrew and Sarah. Carnes comes to the church from serving as pastor at Carver Baptist Church in Douglas. He previously served First Quitman as youth/children's minister from June 1998 until July 2000, at which time he became associate pastor until November 2000.
First Baptist Church in Albany called William "Butch" Knight as pastor effective July 10.
Jimmy Maness recently resigned as pastor at Double Branches Baptist Church in Canon.
Dan Pratt was called as minister of students and education at Eastern Heights Baptist Church in Statesboro effective June 1. He was ordained into the ministry on June 12 by Eastern Heights. Prior to coming to Eastern Heights Pratt served as student ministry coordinator at First Baptist Church in Elizabethton, Tenn. and was selected "Staff Minister Of The Year" in 2004 by the Tennessee Baptist Convention. He and his wife, Pam, have three children.
Jim Randell was called as pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church in Mallary Baptist Association on June 12.
Bill Rorie was called as interim pastor at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Hiram on June 26. He recently retired from the pastorate at Calvary Baptist Church in Austell. Rorie is joined by his wife, Betty.
Pine Forest Baptist Church in Bainbridge recently called Milford Stanley as pastor. |
