Former Georgia Baptist Pastor Dan Able died July 25 in his home in Brandenton, Fla. He was 86.

A native of Hughes, Ark., Able served 20 years in the U.S. Army before retiring and entering the ministry in 1967. For 37 years he served as a pastor, missionary, and Bible teacher in churches throughout the United States and foreign countries. His pastorates included churches in Troup and Harris counties.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Margaret; a son, Dan Jr.; and daughter, Judy Smith, all of Brandenton, Fla.; and daughter Lana Long of Texas.
