Boo Acres resigned as pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church in LaFayette effective Aug. 14.

 

Don Braund recently joined the staff at Roswell Street Baptist Church in Marietta as business manager. He previously served as director of administration for nine years at Eastside Baptist Church in Marietta and was employed at Lockheed-Martin for 31 years prior to that. He currently serves as secretary on the board of directors at Lockheed Georgia Employees Federal Credit Union.

 

Briarlake Baptist Church in Decatur called Alfred Burgess as minister to students effective Aug. 21. Burgess comes to the church from Brushy Creek Baptist Church in Easley, S.C. where he served as associate pastor to students for the past four years. He is joined by his wife, Maranatha, and son, Barrett.

 

First Baptist Church Quitman called Marty Carnes as pastor effective June 19. Carnes previously served the church as minister of youth and children/associate pastor from 1998 until 2000 when he accepted the call to pastor Carver Baptist Church in Douglas, where he served more than 4 years. He is joined by his wife, Cindy, and children, Andrew and Sarah.

 

John Eldridge resigned as pastor of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Trenton effective Aug. 21.

 

Ralph Estes assumed the pastorate at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church on Aug. 14. He comes to the church from Mount Ararat Baptist Church in Blakely.

 

Kent Jennings resigned as business administrator at Roswell Street Baptist Church in Marietta to accept a position at Hyde Park Baptist Church in Austin, Texas. His last Sunday was July 28.

 

Callaway Baptist Church in Troup Association called Ronnie Jordan as pastor effective mid-August. He comes to the church from First Baptist Church Franklin and is joined by his wife, Cathy, and son, Justin.

 

Perry McCain was called as associate minister of music at Johns Creek Baptist Church in Alpharetta and began serving on July 17. McCain comes to the church from Trinity Baptist Church in Kerrville, Texas, where he served as worship pastor for five years. He is joined by his wife, Mary, and their three children, Peter, Helen and Kate.

 

Fred Odom retired as pastor at Colomokee Baptist Church in Blakely on July 30 after 10 years of service.
