Thank you Georgia Baptists for disaster relief teams

As mayor of the city of Lucedale, I want to express my deep felt appreciation to you for your help to the people of this area following Hurricane Katrina.

The hot meal program fed many at a time when good food was not available; there was no electricity and many were without water. The "tarp program" and those men who removed trees from roofs and covered them did a service to a very large number of residents who were unable to take care of these problems themselves.

As of this time your Georgia Baptist Disaster Relief teams have done much more for our injured than any other organization. You will be long remembered in Lucedale for your Christian giving in our time of distress.
