- S. E. "Granny" Goff calls Beth Robertson "Superwoman". Beth is the wife of Wayne Robertson, who at the last rap of the gavel in Columbus on Tuesday will complete his second year as the president of the Georgia Baptist Convention. "Granny", who is 83 years young, is Beth's fishing "buddy".

Sharpton tapped as agency president elect

- Baptist Village Retirement Communities trustees have elected Delos L. Sharpton as the next president/CEO of Georgia Baptist's oldest and largest ministry to senior adults. Sharpton will assume the position upon the retirement of current President/CEO J. Olan Jones who has served for thirty-five years, the last twenty-three as administrator and president/CEO.

Episcopalians rebuked, but not disciplined, by Anglican leaders

- LONDON(RNS) - Leaders of the Anglican Communion said Oct. 16 they would not discipline the Episcopal Church for its approval of an openly gay bishop, but warned that Episcopal policies on homosexuality threaten to "tear the fabric of our Communion at its deepest level."

Methodist giving gap continues to grow

- I arrived home from Navy Boot Camp. Margaret and I were married the next day. We both were seventeen. Two weeks later, I sailed to the Philippine Islands. When my "hitch" in the Navy was done, I returned home.

- Sir: There has been no small commotion, in recent years, as to the constitutionality of Christian symbols and citations of Scripture in government owned facilities. Rising from the debate are cries that the U. S. Constitution requires a "separation of church and state" - a Jeffersonian phrase not found in the Declaration of Independence nor the U. S. Constitution.
