A few weeks ago I was given a copy of the 1925 "Southern Baptist Handbook." Since I have a great interest in history and a fascination with Baptist history in particular, I read the book with great interest.
In recent months there has been renewed discussion over what exactly constitutes a Southern Baptist church, and despite suggestions by some to the contrary, this issue is relevant because of its relationship to the increasing discord and waning cooperation we are experiencing within our convention.

April 26 was a gloriously exciting day for Janice, me and all our family. We welcomed the arrival of our ninth grandchild, Ashley Gail Lillard. She is the daughter of Karen and Stephen Lillard, our middle daughter and her husband. She has two brothers, Ryan and Ben, who will be her personal bodyguards for the rest of her life.
