Ministerial Moves


King Spring Baptist Church in Smyrna recently called James R. Auton as pastor. Auton comes to the church from serving as associate pastor at First Baptist Hinesville. He is joined by his wife, Kati, and their two children, Jacob and Natali.


Byne Memorial Baptist Church in Albany recently called Tom Bagget as minister of administration. He began serving Jan. 10.


After serving as interim pastor for five months at Grace Baptist Church in Covington, Philip Bone was called to serve as pastor on Jan. 15. Bone previously served the church as associate pastor for one and a half years prior to his interim.


New Salem Baptist Church in Griffin called Christopher Borders as full-time minister of youth, children and education effective Feb. 1.


Mountaintown Baptist Church in Ellijay called John T. Bramlett as pastor Feb 5. Bramlett is pursuing his degree in Christian Ministry from New Orleans Seminary’s North Georgia Campus in Decatur. He is joined by his wife, Lori.


Ron Cook resigned as pastor at Friendship Baptist Church in Milner to serve as minister of education at Oak Hill Baptist Church in Griffin effective in February.


Walt Culberson accepted a call as youth director at Penia Baptist Church in Cordele beginning March 1. Culberson served in the U.S. Marine Corps for ten years as well as volunteered with the youth praise band at First Baptist Church in Cordele. He is joined by his wife, Sarah, and daughter, Emma.


Dewey Davidson was called as senior pastor at Fortified Hills Baptist Church in Dallas and began serving Jan. 29. Davidson has pastored churches throughout Texas, Georgia and Florida for the past 35 years. He is joined by his wife, Denise, and their family.


Park Place Baptist Church in Snellville called Sam Dunaway in November to serve as minister of music.


Orchard Hill First Baptist Church called David Floyd as minister of music in February.


Milford Baptist Church in Marietta called Clarence Howard as pastor in Nov-ember. Howard is a graduate of Clemson University and Southern Seminary. He is joined by his wife, Mary Jo, and their daughters, Chloe and Caitlin.


Mark V. Kelly, II resigned, effective Feb. 28, as pastor of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Mountaintown Association after almost 12 years of service. Kelly and his wife, Suzanne, relocated to Cartersville. He will be available for supply, interim, and bi-vocational ministry.


Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Lavonia recently called Kenneth Jones as pastor.


Brooks Baptist Church in Brooks recently called Jack Landham as pastor. He is joined by his wife, Lila.


George Nixon was called as pastor on Feb. 6 at New Prospect Baptist Church in Chickamauga.


Jimmy Powell resigned as associate/youth pastor at Center Grove Baptist Church in Rock Spring effective March 12.


David Ray has been called as minister of music and families by First Baptist Church of Fairburn. Ray previously served other churches in the Atlanta area in music, youth and education ministries and graduated from the University of Georgia where he studied music composition and voice. He is joined by his wife, Ginny, and their two children, Katy and Conor.


After three years interim service Byne Memorial Baptist Church in Albany called Steve Williams as minister of music effective Dec. 4.
