Since its humble beginning in 1872, Georgia Baptist Children’s Homes and Family Ministries, Inc. has reached out to hurting children and broken families providing hope, healing, and love in the name of Jesus Christ.

Georgia Baptist Children’s Homes and Family Ministries is one of the oldest and largest child care agencies in Georgia and serves an average of 1,000 children and families annually. The need for this ministry continues to increase as children suffer due to the pressures placed upon families today.

In Georgia, every 15 minutes, a child is the victim of confirmed abuse or neglect. An average of 200 incidents of child abuse and neglect are reported daily and more than 14,000 children are in the legal custody of the state. Nationwide, 1,300 children died as a result of abuse or neglect in 2003.

Together with your help, we can continue to meet the needs of abused and neglected children.

This year’s Children’s Home Offering Day is scheduled for Mother’s Day - May 9, 2004. Our theme for this celebration is “Hope ... for a Lifetime.”

The children in our care come to us from many different circumstances. It’s our mission to provide hope to them through the knowledge and love of Jesus Christ.

Hope ... that will carry them for a lifetime.

Through our statewide network of campus residential programs, community group homes, emergency shelters, a maternity care facility and teen substance abuse treatment center, we are able to provide a wide variety of much needed assistance to families and children throughout our state.

In addition to meeting the physical needs of these children, we provide a loving environment to support each child’s spiritual needs as well. Last year, 54 children in our care made professions of faith.
