By registering your name and church at www.facingthegiants.com, you can be periodically emailed with updated info, free resources, and the exact theater cities where Facing the Giants will be shown.
Free pastor screenings
Provident and Sherwood are offering 43 free pre-screenings of the entire movie for pastors and executive ministry leaders in cities nationwide prior to the Sept. 29 release. In Georgia, pre-screenings will be held in Atlanta, Athens, Columbus and Macon.
Pastors, Christian school administrators, and coaches can go to www.filmpr.com/facingthegiants/events for info to reserve a free spot to prescreen the movie early. A complimentary resource DVD will be given out to attendees. Reservations are on a first come, first serve basis.
Ministry opportunities
Groups are encouraged to buy out theaters for one or two showings on the opening weekend of Sept. 29th. Different options for churches include: sending their local football teams and coaches to see the film together, planning a church family movie night, and giving tickets to non-church members as an outreach.
More than 284 professions of faith were made during invitations times after Facing the Giants was shown in two Christian film festivals this year. Christian leaders wishing to give invitations after a showing must first rent or buy out the theater room for that specific showing and also obtain permission from the local theater managers to share afterwards. It is best to honor theater owner authority by obtaining permission first regarding decision times or distribution of materials.
Flywheel, another Sherwood movie
Sherwood’s first movie, Flywheel was released in 2003 and has been used in a similar evangelistic format. It was broadcast on five networks, sold 32,000 DVDs, and has been shown in more than 300 churches, schools, and prisons as a ministry outreach. The movie is available on NetFlicks.com and in Blockbuster stores and is being used as a ministry tool in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Romania, the Philippines, South America, Spain and the United Kingdom. Sherwood is giving churches free license to show Flywheel publicly for ministry purposes.
