Officers of the Conference of Georgia Baptist Evangelists met in Greensboro, N.C., during the Southern Baptist Convention June 11. During the meeting they adopted actions to promote the benefits and membership of COGBE to evangelicals around the state convention.
Among the developments was a retreat held at the beginning of the year, this time slated for Jan. 5-6, 2007 at Brasstown Resort near Young Harris. A Pastor’s Advisory Council will also be created to promote COGBE and the use of COGBE evangelists in Georgia Baptist churches. The expansion of the awareness of the group will also be addressed through the publication of a directory and venues such as the Web site www.cogbe.org.
New officers of the group are: Brian Fossett, president, a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Dalton; Bill Prince, vice president, staff evangelist at First Baptist Church in Snellville; Joe Stanley, music director, a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Fayetteville; and Eric Baker, secretary and treasurer, a member of Life Church in McDonough.
