Does not approve of Dobson Headline

A reader who just glanced at your headline to Dr. Dobson’s May 20 column and saw its emotionally charged adjectives – “nagging wife and overworked husband equal troubled marriage” – would get an erroneous impression of the tone and content of Dr. Dobson’s statement about the greatest threat to today’s families.

One who went on to read his column would wonder why the Index didn’t take from Dr. Dobson’s own thesis sentence adjectives with connotations that contrast with those of the headline:’ “vulnerable woman” and “workaholic man.”

Your headline writer has done an injustice to Dr. Dobson and his message, to the reader, and to the wife who is trying to follow the Apostle’s instructions about marriage.

Editor’s Note: Dr. Dobson’s columns come with the headlines already written by his staff. Our contract prevents us from making any changes to the headlines or the content of the columns.
