Ministerial Moves

 

Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Ellijay called Fred Anderson as minister to youth and young families effective mid-June. Anderson comes to the church from Tabernacle Baptist in Macon where he served as minister to students for 10 years. He is joined by his family, Tammy, Celeste, and Heidi.

 

Tony Bowen resigned as minister of music at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Toccoa. His last day at the church will be June 22.

 

Tommy Cleveland resigned as youth pastor of Bowman Baptist Church in Hebron Association on May 23. Cleveland is working towards a bachelor’s degree at New Orleans Seminary and is available for pulpit supply, interim or full-time pastorate. Contact him at (706) 245-7436 or (706) 245-9452.

 

Vernon Dorminey resigned as interim pastor at Hunters Creek Baptist Church in Toccoa. His last day at the church was May 9.

 

Parham Hammontree accepted a call as pastoral care minister at Trinity Baptist Church in Calhoun in May.

 

Tiffny “Jiffy” Holland accepted a call as minister of youth at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Tifton. She is a Certified Sunday School Equipper and has an associate degree in exercise and sports science from Gainesville College. Currently she is a senior at Valdosta State University.

 

Bill Huffstuttler was called to serve as pastor of First Baptist Church in Willacoochee. Huffstuttler was ordained March 21 at Mt. Zion Church in Axson, where he had served as chairman of deacons, taught Sunday School, and served the youth ministry. He is joined by his wife, Pamela.

 

Allan Lockerman submitted his resignation on May 23 after two years as pastor of Elberton First Baptist Church. Lockerman plans to spend his time finishing several book projects.

 

Nathan Potter began serving as music pastor on April 18 at First Baptist Church of the Islands in Savannah after serving the church for almost four years in another position. He is joined by his wife, Lauren.

 

Michael Prettyman accepted a call as worship pastor at First Baptist Church of the Islands in Savannah. Prettyman began his ministry May 9. He comes to the church from Central Fellowship Baptist Church in Macon.

 

Trinity Baptist Church in Calhoun called Brian Priest as minister of education and administration. Priest began his ministry at the church on May 24. He and his wife, Eve, are graduates of Southern Seminary in Louisville, Ky.

 

Jim “JT” Taylor has been called as pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Fairburn Association. He is joined by his wife, Melanie, and their three boys, Jordan, Jacob and Kian.

 

First Baptist Church Chattahoochee called Clyde F. Wade, Sr. as full-time pastor on May 23. Wade came out of retirement to assume leadership of the church.
