Jack Thomas Alderman, Sr., 72, of Cobb, died Dec. 27 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center. A native of Colquitt County, Alderman was a retired minister, having served pastorates in Georgia, Florida, and Louisiana. He also served as a member of the U.S. Army medical corps. Survivors include his wife, Eunice Alderman of Cobb; a daughter, Angie Chilen of Winston-Salem, N.C.; two sons, Tom Alderman of Statesboro, and Reg Alderman of Bowling Green, Ky.; a brother, Ben Alderman of Moultrie; eight grandchildren, and one great grandson.
Jack Perry Buice, 76, died Jan. 2 at Baptist Village in Waycross after an extended illness. He was a native of Atlanta but had lived in many different states during his ministry.
Buice served as minister of music at Bull Street Baptist Church in Savannah, First Baptist Church in Oxford, Miss.; Travis Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas; and First Baptist Church in New Orleans, La. He then moved to Atlanta and went into fulltime music evangelism. He was a member of Sweat Memorial Baptist Church in Waycross and was a veteran who served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Hobbs Buice of Waycross; two daughters, Barbara Bustle and Jacque Kemp, all of Grayson; a son, Jay Buice of Buford; and six grandchildren.
William Norris Wilkerson, 71, died of complications from Parkinson's disease on Jan. 5.
He pastored nine churches and served as interim of five others in Metro Atlanta, Mississippi, and Louisiana. His service in Georgia included Sylvan Hills in Atlanta, Rehoboth in Tucker, and Center Hill in Loganville. Wilkerson was licensed to preach in 1951 at the age of 19 and served in the ministry for 45 years. He was a graduate of New Orleans Seminary.
Wilkerson taught in the Mercer University Seminary Extension Program for eight years and was secretary, vice president, and president of the Atlanta Baptist Pastors' Conference. He was also vice moderator and moderator of Atlanta Baptist Association.
Wilkerson is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patsy B. Wilkerson; a daughter, Lori W. Fowler of Loganville; and two grandsons.
