Don Mason concluded his service as interim pastor of Green Acres Baptist Church in Smyrna on Dec. 1. Mason is available for supply preaching and can be contacted at (770) 424-6007.

 

Keith Yelverton has been called as pastor of Porterfield Baptist Church in Macon. Yelverton previously served as pastor of Sisters Baptist Church in Sandersville, Milner Baptist Church in Milner, Corinth Baptist Church in Hawkinsville, and Chauncey Baptist Church in Chauncey. He is joined by his wife, Tera and son, Luke.

 

Stephen Fountain has been called as associate pastor - student minister/education at First Baptist Carl. Fountain served as summer youth intern at Northside Baptist Church in Columbus. He is a student at Luther Rice Bible College in Lithonia.

 

Mark Barbour was recently called as associate pastor of administration and missions at Marietta First Church. Barbour is a graduate of Mars Hill College, Southeastern Seminary, and the University of Georgia. He most recently served as executive director of operations at Reinhardt College in Waleska. He and his wife, Dena Lynne, have three children: Matthew, Amanda, and Bethany.

 

David Renaue accepted a call as music director at Faith Baptist Church in Albany on July 9. Renaue has been serving as interim music director at Faith since Jan. 6.

 

Jason Jones accepted a call as pastor at Sumner Baptist Church in Weston on Oct. 12. Jones' ordination service was held at Pine Forest Baptist Church in Sumner on Nov. 16.

 

East Athens Baptist Church called Robby Duvall as minister of youth on Nov. 30. David L. Shelley is pastor.

 

Jack Winter has been called as pastor of Fairview Baptist Church in Lavonia.

 

David Wilson is serving as interim pastor at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Martin.

 

Vernon Dorminey has accepted a call to Hunters Creek Baptist Church in Toccoa as interim pastor.

 

Jeff Merritt has been called as senior pastor of Mt. Zion Church in Columbus. Merritt has served in Virginia and Georgia as both student pastor and pastor of discipleship. He is currently serving as ministry administrator at River Point Community Church in Cornelia. Jeff is joined by his wife, Stephanie (Harden), and two children, Samantha and Jordan.

 

Douglas LeCroy, retired missionary from Chattooga Association, has moved back to Hart County and has recently been called as pastor of Liberty Congregational Church in Hartwell. LeCroy previously served in Hebron Association as pastor of Pleasant Grove and Northside Baptist Church. He and his wife, Genelle, live in the Vanna Community.

 

Michael McEntyre has been called as associate minister to students at First Baptist Church of Augusta. He began his ministry in August. George Balentine will begin his ministry as interim preacher in January.
