Seeds from the SowerBy Michael GuidoPublished December 4, 2003
A man was accused of knocking down a policeman. The man defended himself by saying, "A bee was on his neck. I didn't want him to get stung. So I hit the bee as hard as I could." The remedy was worse than the disease. There's no right way to do a wrong thing, but you can do a right thing in a wrong way. Some time you may need to correct, but don't be cruel. You may need to help, but don't hold it over them. You may need to advise, but don't be arrogant. It's a good thing to hit the nail on the head, but don't split the wood in doing it. |
