Firefighters try to calm a teenager who is trapped inside following a street race with another vehicle. Tension mounts as a train appears and barrels down the tracks toward the vehicle.
The first two Sherwood releases were set on used car lots and a football field. Fireproof is set in Albany and focuses on a fireman with a failing marriage. The film is packed with drama, excitement, humor, and plenty of action.
In some ways, Lt. Caleb Holt (Kirk Cameron) is Everyman who lets his pride get in the way of family priorities. He lives by the firefighter’s creed to never leave his partner behind. Burning buildings are one thing; a cooling marriage is another.
In brief, Holt and his wife, Catherine (played by Erin Bethea of Orlando, Fla., who remains a member a Sherwood), struggle with their marriage of seven years. He is an Albany firefighter and she is the public relations director of Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, an actual hospital in Albany.

When friction between the couple worsens they agree to a divorce. The husband’s father, played by Harris Malcom of Albany, tries to persuade his son to delay the divorce for 40 days while secretly going through a process he calls the “love dare.” Although reluctant and skeptical of his parents’ newfound faith, the son agrees and embarks on a spiritual journey that redefines what love means to him.
As he takes the day-by-day dare with suggestions of how to unconditionally love his wife, he eventually comes to realize that he does not know the Giver of love. As he slowly becomes changed from within, he seeks to win back the heart of his wife who is suspicious of his motives.
The real test comes in loving someone who is no longer receptive and proving that unconditional love is the best love of all.
