Kate Ellen Gruver died Nov. 6. She and former Georgia WMU Executive Director Dorothy Pryor were housemates for nearly 40 years. Gruver served for 12 years as a missionary to Israel through the former Foreign Mission Board and for 17 years in the Interfaith Witness Department with the former Home Mission Board. She was known throughout the Georgia Baptist community as the author of Georgia BWMU's centennial history, From This High Pinnacle. A graveside service was held in Nashville, Tenn., the week following her death and a memorial service was held at Wieuca Road Baptist Church in Atlanta on Nov. 18.
