ROME — Shorter College’s website, www.shorter.edu, received a district honor from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, the international professional organization for public relations, fund-raising, and alumni relations personnel in education.

The website received an Award of Excellence in the Overall Website Design and Implementation category, competing against entries from colleges and universities in a nine-state region. The top winner in the category was Virginia Commonwealth University, with the University of Virginia and Virginia Tech also receiving Awards of Excellence.

The awards were presented on Feb. 19 at the CASE District III Conference in Atlanta.

The Shorter.edu site was completely redesigned during the 2006-2007 academic year with the site going live in March 2007. The site was designed and developed by Web manager Dana Thompson. Other individuals involved with the project were Tracy Batchelor, assistant director of institutional relations, and Dawn Tolbert, director of institutional relations for the college.
