Charles Johnson, 86, died April 15 at Dekalb Medical Center.
A member of Heritage Hills Baptist Church in Conyers, Johnson held degrees from Mercer University and Southern Seminary. He served as pastor of First Baptist Lyndall, First Baptist Port Wentworth, and Milan Baptist churches during his 65-year ministry that began when he was 19.
Johnson also served as area missionary for East Middle Georgia and director of missions for Centennial Association. He was preceded in death by his wife, Estelle Walls Johnson, and is survived by his sons Charles, of Roswell, and Alex, of Conyers; sisters Bluford McDougald of Covington and Delores Wright of Columbia, S.C.; and three grandchildren.
