Ministers Ordained

Steven James, originally of Blackshear First Church, was ordained into the gospel ministry on Oct. 5 by Garden Acres Church in Texas, where he recently accepted the call as minister of education. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia and a student at Southwestern Seminary. He is married to the former Heather Knox. Pastor David Shelley of East Athens Church preached the ordination charge because James answered the call to ministry while a member of that church.

Kevin Stringham was ordained into the gospel ministry on Sept. 21 by Western Heights Church in LaGrange, where he serves as children's minister. He is a graduate of Samford University in Alabama. His father, Glenn Stringham, minister to senior adults at Fayetteville First Church, preached the ordination sermon. He and his wife, Vikki, have two daughters.
