Jessica Duncan, Thailan Pham join Index as summer internsPublished July 15, 2004
Jessica Duncan and Thailan Pham are serving as summer interns with The Christian Index. During their six-week internship they will be learning how The Index produces stories and generates photography for each issue, and then will observe how pages are designed under the pressure of deadline. The summer mentoring will provide real-world experiences as they pursue their journalistic careers. Duncan just completed her freshman year at Oklahoma Baptist University and is considering transferring to a Georgia college in the fall. A native of Oklahoma City, she has written and produced photography for the music and arts section for The Bison, the campus newspaper. Duncan is daughter of Jon and Mary Duncan of Dacula, who are members of Hebron Baptist Church. Jon Duncan has led Music and Worship Ministries for the Georgia Baptist Convention for the past two years. Pham is studying for her masters in journalism and mass communication from the University of Georgia. She has written several articles for the Red and Black, the campus newspaper. Pham was born in New Jersey but was raised in Georgia. She attends Northeast Vietnamese Baptist Church in Atlanta and is a member of Savannah Vietnamese Baptist Church. Pham is daughter of An Van and Lienhoa Pham, who are also members of the Savannah congregation. An Van Pham is Asian statewide missionary, dually appointed by the Georgia Baptist Convention and North American Mission Board. |
