Lanny Loe, senior executive pastor and minister of missions at First Baptist Church of Jonesboro, was named the 2003 International Ambassador of the Year by the Clayton County Chamber of Commerce International Promotions Council. Since 2001 he has ministered in more than a dozen countries and helped send 500 people overseas for a variety of ministry projects. First Jones-boro conducts worship services each Sunday in Hinki, Khamir, Vietnamese, Laotian, Thai, and Spanish and ministers to more than 30 ethnic groups. It has sister churches in Serbia, Romania, Peru, Liberia, and Central Asia. Dean Haun is pastor.
Chip Fuller celebrated 10 years of service as minister to students and minister of education at Northside Baptist Church in Valdosta on Jan. 9.
Three students with Georgia ties received doctoral degrees from New Orleans Seminary during commencement exercises on December 20.
