The Rock Baptist Church in Rex will host a reception on July 25 from 2-4 p.m. honoring Paul Aday for 20 years of service as minister of music and senior adults.

The church is making a memory book for Aday and requests cards or letters to be brought to the reception or mailed to Janet Wheeler at the church office.

 

First Baptist Waycross recognized Tommy Hatcher as Man of the Year on June 20. Currently he serves as chairman of the finance committee and as a member of the church leadership council, Baptist Men’s fellowship, debt retirement committee, security committee and usher committee.

In past years he has served the church as chairman of the deacon board and worked with the Royal Ambassadors.

 

Doris Whittle Butler, 90, was recognized May 2 for teaching the Beginner class at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Dexter for seventy years. A member of Mount Carmel since childhood, Butler has over the years taught hundreds of young people including her own children and grandchildren. She will be teaching a great-grandchild next year. Josey Baptist Church in Bartow honored Ann Smith Todd with a plaque and flowers on May 30 for more than 50 years of service as Sunday School teacher, vacation Bible school worker and pianist. The church had a covered dish lunch in her honor.

Edward Frasier celebrated his 50th year as a deacon at Southside Baptist Church in Cedartown. He was ordained on March 21, 1954. Pastor James W. Guy, far left, presents a commemorating plaque to Frasier and his wife, Geneva.
