Ministerial Moves

 

Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Hiram called Tim Walker as pastor. He began his ministry May 16.

 

In May Fred Anderson was called to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Ellijay as minister to youth and young families. Anderson and his wife, Tammy, graduated from Brewton Parker College. He attended Southeastern Seminary while serving as minister to youth and children at Momeyer Baptist Church in Nashville, N.C. He also served at Anderson Drive Baptist Church in Jesup and, most recently, served for ten years at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Macon. They have two daughters, Celeste and Heidi.

 

Jim Barrow began his ministry as interim minister of music at Lawrence Drive Baptist Church in Macon on May 23. Barrow previously served three other Macon churches Bellevue Baptist Church, Pine Forest Baptist Church, and Riverside Baptist Church. He is joined by his wife, Donna.

 

Norm Daugherty accepted a call as pastor of New Salem Baptist Church in Griffin on May 16.

 

Jerry Deans resigned as pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Albany on May 16.

 

First Baptist Church Manchester called Tom Gavin as minister of music and senior adults on June 16. He is joined by his wife, Linda.

 

Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Lavonia called Ed Floyd as pastor on June 6. Floyd began his ministry at the church on July 1.

 

Hunters Creek Baptist Church in Toccoa called Jerome Hill as pastor on June 6. Hill comes to the church from New Hope Baptist Church in Tugalo Association.

 

Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany called David Joiner as children’s minister. Joiner began his ministry on June 6.

 

Northside Baptist Church in Valdosta called Rick Stevens as pastor effective Aug. 1. Stevens is a graduate of Southern Seminary in Louisville, Ky. and comes to the church from First Baptist Church, Scottsboro, Ala. He is joined by his wife, Shirley, and their two children, Valerie and Samuel.
