Todd Aaron resigned as pastor of Carver Road Baptist Church in Griffin on June 13.
Floyd L. Battles Sr., retired pastor of Pleasant Valley South Baptist Church in Rome, has completed his interim work at Live Oak Baptist in Aragon. He will be available for supply work and can be reached at (706) 234-8944.
Reid Buckelew, pastor of Friendship Baptist Church in Palmetto, completed 12 1/2 years of service at the Georgia Baptist Children’s Home. He retired effective June 30.
Jim Chestnut resigned as pastor of Glenn Baptist Church in Troup Association on June 21.
C. Wm. Eidenire retired in June after 44 years of pastoral and educational ministry. Eidenire served at Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany as well as churches in Pennsylvania, Illinois, Louisiana, and Florida. He served on staff at Moody Bible Institute, New Orleans Seminary, Luther Rice Seminary, and Lamad Ministries/Seasons Christian Care Center, Inc. He and his wife, Dorothy, live in Leesburg. They have three sons and 10 grandchildren.
Keith Hand was called as youth pastor at Desoto Park Baptist Church in Rome. Hand began his ministry June 2. Scott Lambert is pastor.
John Hughes relocated to a new field of service after serving as pastor of Heritage Baptist Church in West Metro Association for 8 1/2 years. The church held a reception in honor of Hughes, his wife, Nancy, and their sons on June 27.
William H. Johnson, Jr. was called as pastor at Orchard Hill Baptist Church on May 30.
Art Lesser resigned as minister of music and worship at Vineyard Baptist Church in Griffin on May 20.
Garey W. Meadows was called as pastor at Edison Baptist Church in Bethel Association on June 1.
Ogeechee River Baptist Association will move to its new location at 17 North College Street in Statesboro in mid-August.
First Baptist Church in Adel called Benjamin Smith as pastor effective July 11. Smith comes to the church from Calvary Baptist Church in Lancaster, S.C.
Brian Smith was called as minister of youth at Crestview Baptist Church in Griffin. Smith began his ministry on June 1.
Northside Baptist Church in Valdosta called Rick Stevens to begin serving as pastor August 1. Stevens comes to the church from First Baptist Church in Scottsboro, Ala., where he had served for 6 years. He has received master of divinity and doctor of ministry degrees from Southern Seminary and has pastored churches in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, and Mississippi. Stevens is joined by his wife, Shirley, and their two children, Valerie and Samuel. |
