I am glad that you finally published something regarding the Family Marriage Amendment in your July 29 issue. I am disappointed you failed to get the information to the public prior to the Senate vote July 14.

I tried via email to get the word out in our association newsletter without success. I have provided my church office with information, but my pastor has not mentioned this in any sermons yet.

I read the article titled “The Declension of American Society” on page 4 of the July 29 Index and wonder why we as a Christian group are slow to respond to this destructive behavior. I encourage you to continue to post articles encouraging Christians to get involved with their elected officials to deal with this very important issue in the life of our country.

Editors Note: It’s difficult sometimes for The Index to be as current as it would like to be since it publishes on a bi-weekly schedule. The date of the vote on the Federal Marriage Amendment shifted several times which made the timing of running an article even more difficult. At the last moment when the date was finally decided The Index had already gone to our printer and it was too late to add an article.
