Why should I give my money to World Hunger? Many other good, sincere ministries appeal to me for help. What makes World Hunger more attractive?

Those are good questions, and deserve an honest response. First, none of the money I give to World Hunger is used for administrative costs. One hundred percent of the money you give to World Hunger feeds hungry people across the world.

Many other ministries are great at feeding people, but use 15 to 20 percent of what they receive for administrative costs. It makes good sense for me to give to World Hunger if I want to feed as many people as possible with every dollar I give.

Another reason to give my money to World Hunger is an economical one. Think about this: We can feed people more efficiently through the World Hunger ministry. A healthy meal for one person costs only 40 cents. No other place or group can feed a hungry person for such a reasonable price.

When I look at any restaurant menu, I never see a meal for only 40 cents – and usually not even a cup of coffee for that little anymore. My wife can’t even cook a meal at home for 40 cents. I admit I’m amazed the cost can be kept so low. World Hunger enables me to become a better steward of the resources God has given me.

The final reason I give to the World Hunger emphasis is the method by which it is used in the mission field. These funds are funneled to all areas of the mission field.

The funds I give to World Hunger are used in Georgia as well as in all parts of the world. When I give a dollar to World Hunger, 10 cents would be kept in Georgia to be used in churches and ministry centers statewide. Of the remaining 90 cents, the North American Mission Board receives 20 percent for feeding the hungry and the International Mission Board receives 80 percent.

This formula enables me to touch people not only in Georgia, but also people across the nation and the world. What a deal! I can help feed hungry people in places that I cannot personally visit. I may not be able to take a mission trip to certain places in the world, but through my contributions I can assist those who do have such an opportunity.

The Lord can use the money I give to World Hunger in a mighty way.
