Outgoing GBC President Bucky Kennedy has named an eight-member committee to study resources of the state convention.
Kennedy, pastor of First Baptist Church in Vidalia, announced in June that he would be appointing the committee at the request of GBC Executive Director J. Robert White. The state executive called for the committee’s creation following the national discussion for greater denominational accountability, which is one of the tenets of the Great Commission Resurgence declaration.
Larry Wynn, pastor of Hebron Baptist Church, will serve as chairman. Serving along with the Dacula pastor will be Frank Cox, pastor of North Metro First Baptist Church in Lawrenceville; Fred Evers, pastor of Northside Baptist Church in Tifton; Brian Stowe, pastor of Maysville Baptist Church; Dan Spencer, pastor of First Baptist Church of Thomasville; Tom Moore, member of First Baptist Church in Vidalia; Jeremy Morton, pastor of Cross Point Baptist Church in Perry; and Kennedy.
