Revival through the WordBy William H. Williams, SnellvillePublished September 9, 2004
I agree that we need growth and revival but I don’t know any that has come other than a concentration on the Word of God, that is, the preaching and teaching of it and by letting God work through us in the winning of souls and building up of His children. “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17). Also we must be patient and love others, especially those in the family of God. As for music, hopefully it would be the kind that may be used by the Holy Spirit to convict of sin, righteousness (Jesus) and judgment, which Jesus said the Holy Spirit would do whether the music was contemporary or traditional. I was started out with the “milky” song: “Jesus loves me …” (you know the rest) and later the “meaty” one: “What can wash away my sin …” And so, we need to keep sowing the seed and stop looking at the tares and wheat (thank God for the wheat) and look to the Harvester (Jesus), knowing that we are indebted to Him until every person on Earth hears about Him. |
