Robert B. Moody, Jr. of Tifton died at Tift Health Care on June 11. Services were held at First Baptist Church in Union Point on June 14. Eddie Roland officiated. Interment followed at Wisteria Cemetery.
Moody, a Greene County native, resided in Union Point most of his life. He served the United States Army Air Corps from 1941-1945.
A member of the American Legion, Moody was owner of Moody Engineering in Union Point from 1946-1961 until entering the ministry.
Moody served in the following churches during his years in ministry: County Line Baptist Church and Carter's Grove Baptist Church in Georgia Association for 10 years, Johnson Drive Baptist Church in Athens for 6 years, Glenwood First Baptist Church in Daniell Association for 6 years, and Fourth Street Baptist Church in Tifton for 8 years. He also served as moderator of the Georgia Association. Moody is survived by his wife, Louise Phelps Moody of Tifton, and son, Douglas L. Moody, Sr. of Chula.
 
Craig Skinner, former professor of preaching at Golden Gate Seminary, died Aug. 10 in Atlanta after an extended battle with cancer. He was 75. He taught preaching at Golden Gate's Northern California campus from 1982-94.
Skinner and his wife, Betty, retired to Atlanta in 1994 to be near children and to facilitate a continued itinerant ministry of preaching and lecturing.
Students under Skinner's tutelage learned a disciplined method of expository preaching as the foundation for their ministry of proclamation.
Skinner was well-known for his specialization in the ministry and preaching of the famous British Baptist pulpiteer C.H. Spurgeon and for his biography of Spurgeon's son, Thomas Spurgeon, who ministered in Skinner's native Australia.
Prior to joining Golden Gate's faculty, he had taught at Biola University in LaMirada, Calif.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Joy Smith, Julie Chisholm and Carol Headen; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Skinner was buried in Dallas, Ga.
