Names in the news

Renowned philosopher of science William A. Dembski has been named as the first director of the Center for Science and Theology at Southern Seminary.

Since 1999, Dembski has served as associate research professor at Baylor University's Institute for Faith and Learning. He also serves as a senior fellow for the Discovery Institute's Center for the Renewal of Science and Culture in Seattle, Wash., and is executive director of the International Society of Complexity, Information and Design.

Richard Blackaby, president of Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary, has begun a weblog providing reflections and devotionals for readers.

Blackaby's online journal, seen at www.csbs.edu/president, will recount "my perspective on what God is teaching me, what I'm learning in my walk with Christ, and what I see God doing across Canada and the world," said Blackaby, who has led the seminary in Cochrane, Alberta, since 1993.
