Honors

 

J.L. Adams graduated summa cum laude in earning a doctorate of ministry in Christian counseling from Covington Theological Seminary in Rossville July 30. He also has a master of divinity degree from New Orleans Seminary. Adams has served the Laurens Baptist Association in Dublin as director of missions for ten years.

 

Mike Hayden was honored on Oct. 3 with a special morning service and luncheon at First Baptist Church Ellijay. Hayden has served the church as minister of education for 20 years.

 

C.G. and Catherine Walden were honored for more than 50 years of service to Fishing Creek Baptist Church in Fayetteville with a special recognition at Sharpsburg Baptist Church on Aug. 29. The Waldens have been life long members of Fishing Creek and have served in a myriad of capacities over the years.

C.G. Walden served on the Board of Trustees of the Georgia Baptist Children's Home and on the Executive Committee of the Georgia Baptist Convention. He also began a prison ministry, taught Sunday School, and served as deacon and Gideon. Catherine served the church as pianist and treasurer.
