Obituaries

 

Harold Malone, a member of First Baptist Church in Augusta, died Sept. 17.

Born in 1918, Malone was a native of Missouri. He attended Auburn University before graduating from Howard College (now Samford University) and Southern Seminary.

Ordained into the ministry in 1941, Malone pastored churches in Kentucky, Alabama, Tennessee and Iowa. He taught at Southern Seminary and served with the International Mission Board as a missionary to thirteen countries in Southeast Asia and Australia - teaching seminary-level pastoral care classes and Greek.

Malone retired to Augusta in 1998, where he served as interim pastor to several churches in the area.

He is survived by his wife, Bessie; two sons, Harold Lee Malone, Jr. and Jacob Oliver Malone; two sisters, Deeleta Goldsmith and Louse Malone; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
