The Focus on the Family column, which has been a regular fixture in this space for many years, is being replaced with a new column on apologetics. Last year James Dobson wrote his final column and transferred the writing of future content to the current president Jim Daly and licensed psychologist and Focus radio co-host Juli Slattery.
This transition, along with higher fees which The Index pays for the column and steadily declining revenue from subscription and advertising, required a re-thinking of our stewardship of shrinking resources.
We believe we have reached a conclusion that is best for our readers and for expanding Christ’s Kingdom. As of this issue we are introducing a new column on apologetics that should prove to be a valuable resource to each subscriber.
In I Peter 3:15 (NIV) we are urged to “always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have…” We trust that this new column, which is provided to us free of charge from some of the best Christian apologists in the nation, will help you as you share Christ in your daily walk.
