“Pop,” said a boy, “one of the kids said I looked and acted like you.”

“Really?” he asked. “What did you say to him?”

“Nothing,” said the boy. “He’s bigger than I am.”

Happy is the boy who has a father who’s an example, not an embarrassment; an inspiration, not an irritation. Happy is the boy who has a father who reveres the Bible and doesn’t ridicule it, who believes in prayer and doesn’t belittle it, who declares the Lord and doesn’t deny Him.

Father, can you say, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord?”
