Index seeking information for stories dealing with prayer, 40 Days of Purpose, moral purity among teens

The Index is seeking information on Georgia Baptists involved in three areas of ministry.

  • Many revivals and spiritual awakenings have been tied to prayer meetings which laity began holding at their places of business. Such meetings were held before or after work hours or on lunch breaks.
  • The Index would like to know about any such gatherings which are happening among Georgia Baptists. The information would be used in an upcoming story dealing with faith in the marketplace.

  • California pastor Rick Warren's 40 Days of Purpose has taken the Christian community by storm in recent years. The Index would like to hear from churches that have participated in the program in the past year.
  •

  • The Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta reported last week that out-of-wedlock births among teens had dropped to one of the lowest levels in decades. Index writers would like to interview individuals from churches which have had good experience with the True Love Waits approach to chastity and moral purity.

Readers who are familiar with laity or churches that relate to these topics are encouraged to contact Joe Westbury, Index managing editor, at jwestbury@christianindex.org or by calling (770) 936-5596.
