The editors retain the right to refuse advertising that in our judgment
is not consistent with the image and philosophy of a Christian family
newspaper, according to guidelines established by the Board of Directors
of The Christian Index.
The Index is liable for error for our composition only to the extent of
credit or correct rerun of ad or affected portion. Credit is allowed for
the first insertion only. Notice of error must be given in time for the
correction to be made in a subsequent issue.
The Christian Index is published every other Thursday. Ad reservations
and materials for design by the Index are due 14 business days before the
publication date; camera-ready ads are due 10 business days before
All rates are net. Advance payment required for first-time advertisers;
additional ads are billed following publication with terms of net 10 days.
Past due accounts may incur interest at the rate of 1% per month plus a
$25 late fee.
Discounts are offered for advertisers interested in frequency or bulk
discounts. Discounts apply when the number of contracted insertions is
reached by the advertiser within the specified period. Discounts are
posted at the end of the contract period.
Ad Preparation Specifications
Digitally prepared ads are preferred and are accepted in Macintosh
format only. Ads must be designed using QuarkXPress with supporting files
in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. All supporting files (including fonts)
should be included. Photo scans must be at least 200 dpi and saved as jpeg
files. Ads should use 85-line screen (black & white), 100-line screen
(color); right-reading, emulsion side down; proofs should accompany
Color advertising rates are based on four-color process. If a spot
color is desired that cannot be built from four-color process, additional
charges will apply. Color ads should be accompanied by a proof; additional
charges will apply for negative output.
Rates are based on vertical column inches; dimensions include required
borders. Minimum size for set ad is 2 column inches.
