Domino of personal evangelism: Ignite an evangelistic culture

Posted

The Georgia Baptist Evangelism Strategy is built on building an evangelistic culture in your church using The Domino Effect. The dominoes are seven biblical principles that produce a cumulative effect with each domino creating momentum to build a culture of evangelism in your fellowship. The Domino of Personal Evangelism is an effective way to engage your church members to build evangelistic excitement and momentum in reaching lost people with the gospel.

Jesus commanded His disciples to follow Him and He would make them to become fishers of men (Mark 1:17). If a disciple isn’t fishing for men, that disciple isn’t following Jesus. After His resurrection, Jesus told His disciples that they would receive power to be witnesses to all of creation. His strategic plan for world evangelism is total penetration (witnessing to the whole world) and total participation (every disciple is a witness).

Our strategic plan for personal evangelism training is No Sweat Evangelism.

It is a tool to help your members make sharing their faith simple. This resource builds into your life a sense of clarity in evangelism and a game plan to lead your church to share Jesus. Your members will learn to pray for lost people and share the gospel in their circle of influence. For a deeper dive into No Sweat, go to our website at nosweatevangelism.com.

Personal evangelism starts with the pastor.

You must be intentional about creating a culture of people sharing Jesus. You must model evangelism by consistently sharing your gospel conversations. Share your stories of sharing the gospel when people don’t get saved. This teaches your people that success is found in being obedient in sharing the gospel and planting the gospel seeds.

One key element in leading your church members to become personal witnesses is to provide evangelism training. Around 85% of top baptizing Georgia Baptist churches provide evangelism training. No Sweat Evangelism training can help partner with you in teaching your members:

  1. Their privilege and responsibility of sharing Jesus.
  2. How to view themselves biblically as sent missionaries.
  3. How to defeat the negative thinking that hinders them from witnessing.
  4. Ways they can develop evangelistic curiosity in impacting their circle of influence.
  5. A method of sharing the gospel of Jesus that is so simple anyone can do it. It’s so simple we named it No Sweat Evangelism.

I carry the No Sweat gospel tract with me to share with people in my circle of influence.

Imagine raising up an army of people in your church who are consistently sharing Jesus with the lost and praying for open doors of gospel conversations. Evangelistic churches lead their people to share Jesus with a lost world by becoming intentional in their gospel witness.
