CROFTON, Ky. (KT) – Crofton Baptist Church has made it a mission to ensure that the community it serves knows Jesus. Pastor Jim Gifford has marveled at how the church has embraced reaching its Jerusalem, including the Amish community, which has been part of the area for more than 50 years.

NICEVILLE, Fla. — The Church on Bayshore has grown from 500 in Sunday morning worship to more than 1,300 since James Ross was called as pastor in 2017. The reason for the growth, Ross says, is that the church shifted its focus to young families, and the church’s senior adults have supported that change.

Bible study: Calling out sin

Several years ago, a city near me decided to install traffic cameras to deter speeding and other violations. The result was something the city did not expect. Citizens were outraged when they began to receive citations in the mail with hefty fees.

In chapter 5, at God’s direction and under Joshua’s leadership, the children of Israel crossed the swollen Jordan River on dry ground. When news of the miraculous crossing reached the kings in Canaan, their hearts melted. Joshua used this as an opportunity to recommit the people to God by the act of circumcision. He did this because all the circumcised men had died in the wilderness.

Some stories and teachings from the Scriptures find their way into the fabric of our society and daily conversations. Even if someone is not a believer in Christ or does not hold the Bible in high regard, they will reference the ministry of Jesus or quote His words. The story of the good Samaritan is a great example.
