ORLANDO, Fla.  — Twenty-eight years ago, members from First Baptist Church in Kissimmee began to pray that the church might someday own the field that adjoined their church property. As part of the events surrounding Crossover from June 1 to June 6, the church hosted its first outreach efforts on the land they recently acquired.

The SBC Executive Committee has launched the Fortify Initiative, a new effort designed to bring abuse prevention and response training directly to churches through regional events and partnerships with state conventions.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Southern Baptist Theological Seminary President Albert Mohler said Monday that recurring medical episodes that have affected him during recent public speaking appearances are related to complications from previous surgeries and are not life-threatening. Mohler, 66, addressed the issue in a video posted to X after what he described as a recent wave of concern from people who had seen him pause and appear to be in distress during public events.

Bible study: Meeting needs

I relish the opportunity to share about the great church I pastor whenever I can. The church I serve is what most would describe as a medium-sized church, but I can attest that we have a large heartbeat for missions at home and abroad.

ORLANDO, Fla. — Southern Baptist messengers meeting in Orlando this June will consider a proposed resolution affirming that the office and function of pastor, elder, and overseer are limited to men as qualified by Scripture.

NASHVILLE (BP) – The slate of resolutions for the 2026 Southern Baptist Convention has been released by the committee appointed by SBC President Clint Pressley. The resolutions deal with current SBC topics such as the office of the pastor and disability ministry, along with cultural topics such as immigration, political violence, and artificial intelligence.
