ROCK SPRING, Ga. — More than 630 attendees from some 80 churches gathered Saturday, Aug. 23, at Peavine Baptist Church in Rock Spring for the first of this year’s six SPARK church-strengthening conferences hosted by the Georgia Baptist Mission Board.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (KT) — The 22nd annual Heritage Classic Golf Tournament on Monday not only raised $241,000 to benefit students at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Boyce College, but featured a hole-in-one, which earned one golfer a new car, and had four teams deadlocked for first place.

School is back in session, and with it are all the prospects of learning and academic success. The older I became, the more I appreciated my times of studying. I was always most interested in the classes that involved literature or history. Math and science were not my strongest areas.

Bible study: God's presence

God never promised that believing Him and being obedient would be easy, yet in our good days and not-so-good days, we can experience God’s presence. God’s presence can bring peace and comfort on difficult days.

CONYERS, Ga. — Music filled the air to mark the celebration at Rockdale Baptist Church on Sunday, Aug. 10.  The church honored Karen Tanner, the church’s pianist, and Martha Hyde, the church’s organist, for more than 50 years of continuous service in the music ministry at the church.

Pastor's wife: Celebrating Dixie

This week we are celebrating Dixie’s Gotcha Day. Dixie is the terrier mix pup my beloved rescued a year ago. We feel like God put him in the right place at the right time to find her. She has been a wonderful addition to our family.

Last Sunday at church, our sermon was about the ways God used seemingly insignificant people in the Bible to do significant things. I have thought about this a lot throughout this week.

MAYSVILLE, Ga. — One hundred families lined up early in the morning of Saturday, July 26, for the annual Maysville Baptist Church Back-to-School event at Primera Iglesia Bautista de Maysville Church.  Both churches provided 325 students with school supplies, backpacks, clothing, haircuts, burritos, a box of food, and the gospel.
