Handmaiden House is a Christian based nonprofit 501c3 charity in Cairo, Ga., dedicated to providing women, with or without children a place to call home. We provide support and resources to bring them from crisis to self-sufficiency.
The Thrift Store is set up to support our Transitional Home and we are seeking a Full-Time 40 hr. per week Store Manager to join our family. Working days are Tuesday – Saturday with 2-week paid vacation and PTO for 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years.
This is a multifaceted position which includes working frequently with our residents and through our community outreach initiatives.
Qualifications:
• The candidate we are seeking will provide a biblically sound testimony of having accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and lead a life worthy of the calling in which they are called. Actively engages in private and corporate prayer, regular church attendance, bible study and holy living.
• It is essential that she reflects a high level of integrity and moral behavior, demonstrate emotional maturity and stability necessary to deal day to day with women in crisis. The ability to keep confidentiality is a must.
• Must be a Woman (this is a Women’s only Mission) 18+ years of age, with a High School Diploma or GED.
• Have a valid Driver’s license and own transportation, ability to pass drug screen and background check.
• Requires the ability to participate in or lead devotionals with our residents and/or staff and volunteers.
• Possess the ability to lead others effectively in an encouraging, cooperative manner.
• Committed to serving the poor and homeless without judgement or criticism.
• Organized, detail oriented, retail experience a plus!
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for full operations of the Handmaiden House Thrift Store, including Social Media Marketing on Facebook and Instagram and maintaining our online Etsy Store.
Maintains a high level of customer service.
Follows HH Policies and Procedures to ensure the Store is safe, clean, well maintained, clear of clutter.
Will safeguard our customers/donors, staff/residents/volunteers and serve with a positive, friendly attitude.
Cash Handling.
Working Environment:
Frequent walking, standing for long periods of time, bending, stooping and kneeling.
Unloading donations which may also require the ability to lift, push and/or pull furniture or heavy boxes up to but not limited to 50lbs.
Climbing stairs with clothes bags daily.
