Baptist Village honors Fannie Sullivan for five decades of caregiving

WAYCROSS, Ga. — Baptist Village is proud to celebrate an incredible milestone: 50 years of exceptional service from our dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Fannie Sullivan (hired July 28, 1975. Fannie’s unwavering commitment to compassionate care has significantly impacted countless lives throughout the Baptist Village community.

For five decades, Fannie has consistently demonstrated the highest levels of professionalism, empathy, and dedication, embodying the core vision of Baptist Village – “Serving God by Providing Excellence in Retirement Living.” Her tireless efforts in providing exceptional care have made a profound difference in the lives of our residents and their families.

As an invaluable member of our team, Fannie consistently goes above and beyond to ensure the well-being and comfort of those in her care. Her dedication, positive attitude, and exceptional work ethic have set a high standard for patient care while inspiring her colleagues and fostering a supportive work environment.

Baptist Village is proud of its legacy, with numerous employees who have given 20, 30, and 40 years of service to this senior adult healthcare and housing ministry. Yet, it is a special honor to celebrate Fannie’s significant milestone of 50 years of service, the longest tenure ever held by a Baptist Village employee.” Dr. Mathison concluded by noting Fannie Sullivan’s commitment to excellence and heartfelt care has touched the lives of many, truly embodying the Baptist Village motto – "Making Life Better for Senior Adults and their Families.”

To provide historical context for what was happening globally when Fannie began working at Baptist Village in 1975, several significant events occurred that year. The Vietnam War came to an end, Microsoft was founded, and the Altair 8800, considered the first personal computer, was released. Additionally, the first digital camera was invented, Sony’s Betamax became the first commercially successful home video recording unit, and Good Morning America premiered on ABC. NBC also aired the first episodes of Saturday Night Live and Wheel of Fortune, while Universal Pictures released the movie Jaws.
