MOUNT VERNON, Ga. — Beginning with the Spring 2026 semester, Brewton-Parker Christian University’s education programs will be unified under the newly established school of education.

The transition positions the university to support continued growth in enrollment and programs while maintaining academic rigor and classroom-ready preparation. The school of education will continue to house BPCU’s undergraduate and graduate education offerings while providing a clearer academic structure and identity for current and future students.

“For decades, educator preparation has been central to Brewton-Parker’s mission, with graduates serving faithfully as teachers in classrooms locally, regionally, and nationally. Establishing the school of education allows the university to build on that strong foundation by further strengthening how we prepare educators who are ready to lead, serve, and make an immediate impact through Christian faith, academic excellence, and real-world practice,” said Dr. Justin E. Russell, BPCU Provost.

Dr. Beverly Faircloth, assistant professor of education and dean of the school of education, emphasized the significance of the transition for students and faculty alike. “In recent years, we have seen significant growth in the number of students choosing education as their calling, along with an expansion of programs designed to meet workforce needs. Establishing a school of education allows us to sustain that growth while maintaining a strong commitment to academic rigor, practical application, and the preparation of highly effective educators who are ready to serve from day one.”

The school of education will continue to equip future educators through instruction grounded in Christian values, academic excellence, and a calling to serve.
